The Non-Aligned Monument Georgetown
This monument surprised me ! It is located in the park in front of St. Georges cathedral. Found this info on the net: During the Conference of Foreign Ministers of Non-Aligned countries held in Guyana from August 8-11, 1972, a monument to the four founders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM):
- President Nasser of Egypt
- President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana
- Jawaharlal Nehru of India
- President Tito of Yugoslavia
was erected in this garden and was unveiled by the then President, Arthur Chung. This monument is unique, no other references to other monuments are found.
See Wikipedia for more info on the Non-Aligned Movement. Funny to find Tito in downtown South America. I've seen the state of his country in 1995.
