Self-Pity

I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

I've seen this in the movie 'GI Jane' by Ridley Scott. I have some blatant attacks of self pity now and then, this poem is a good cure !
